So the confirmed total I’ve been able to track down is 7 ThinkGeek stores of the 18 total - all due to close on the same date, September 26. I also discovered at least two more locations that posted on Facebook (also on August 26) that are located at Brookfield Properties Retail malls - in Arlington, Texas, and Fort Worth, Texas. I did a Facebook search for other locations in SIMON Malls and discovered the locations McAllen, Texas Tacoma, Washington and Tulsa, Oklahoma, posted the same message they are closing. According to Wikipedia, there are 18 locations for ThinkGeek stores and the two confirmed closing I found are among the nine specifically within SIMON Malls.
I also did a quick Google search and discovered a similar message was reported by the El Paso ThinkGeek store. My guess is the inventory will be divided between the two remaining GameStops. However, it’s an interesting move because there is a GameStop located within that same mall, as well as another GameStop in a strip mall across the parking lot - so there were three locations owned by GS within a city block of each other. They are closing a nearby ThinkGeek located in a rather high-end shopping mall in Oklahoma City (the image was posted on their Facebook page on August 26).
